What Does pH Measure?
pH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of a liquid solution. It is defined as the negative logarithm (base 10) of the hydrogen ion (H+) activity in a solution. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral (neither acidic nor basic). Values less than 7 are considered acidic and values greater than 7 are considered basic.
pH measurements are important in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage production, water treatment, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Accurate pH measurements are essential for maintaining optimal conditions for industrial processes and for ensuring the safety and quality of products.
The ProCon P14 Series pH sensors are designed for highly accurate and long-lasting performance. They feature a Nexus solid KCl reference that eliminates reference poisoning, which is a common problem with traditional liquid references. Reference poisoning occurs when the reference electrode is contaminated with impurities, leading to inaccurate pH measurements. The solid KCl reference in the P14 Series pH sensors is sealed and protected from contamination, ensuring long-lasting and accurate performance.
The ProCon D Series of pH displays and controllers are designed to work seamlessly with the P14 Series of pH sensors. They feature a color display and data logging capabilities, making it easy to read and record pH measurements. The D Series also features simplcal calibration, which allows for quick and easy calibration of the meter. This, in combination with the heavy duty rugged construction, ensures the D series of pH displays and controllers are ideal for use in harsh industrial environments.
In summary, the ProCon P14 Series pH sensors and the D series of pH displays and controllers are designed to provide a highly accurate, long-lasting and easy to use pH measurement solution. The use of a Nexus solid KCl reference eliminates reference poisoning and the color display, data logging and simplcal calibration, heavy duty rugged construction, easy programming and robust design of the D series of pH displays and controllers make this system user-friendly and durable for any harsh industrial environment.
